AN1, Ubiquitin Like Protein (ANUBL1)

ANUBL1 contains 1 AN1-type zinc finger and 1 ubiquitin-like domain. this gene is expressed at high level, 1.5 times the average gene in this release. ANUBL1 contains 35 different introns. Transcription produces 26 different mRNAs, 22 alternatively spliced variants and 4 unspliced forms. There are 8 probable alternative promotors, 8 non overlapping alternative last exons and 13 validated alternative polyadenylation sites . The mRNAs appear to differ by truncation of the 5""" end, truncation of the 3""" end, presence or absence of 10 cassette exons, overlapping exons with different boundaries. 2 variants were isolated in vivo, despite the fact that they are predicted targets of nonsense mediated mRNA decay . ANUBL1 has been proposed to participate in a process. Proteins are expected to have molecular functions and to localize in various compartments.
