Zinc Finger, CCHC Domain Containing Protein 6 (ZCCHC6)

ZCCHC6 Uridylyltransferase that mediates the terminal uridylation of some specific RNAs. Not involved in uridylation of precursor let-7 (pre-let-7) miRNA. Does not play a role in replication-dependent histone mRNA degradation. Belongs to the DNA polymerase type-B-like family. 6 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.This enzyme belongs to the family of transferases, specifically those transferring phosphorus-containing nucleotide groups (nucleotidyltransferases). The systematic name of this enzyme class isUTP:RNA uridylyltransferase. Other names in common use include terminal uridylyltransferase, and TUT.
