Acyl Coenzyme A Thioesterase 3 (ACOT3)
Английские синонимы
Pte1a; Pte2; Pte2a; Peroxisomal acyl-coenzyme A thioester hydrolase 2a; Peroxisomal long-chain acyl-CoA thioesterase 2
ACOT3, Belongs to the C/M/P thioester hydrolase family, Widely expressed. Highly expressed in the kidney, expressed at low level in the liver. Isoform 2 is expressed in the kidney, but not in the liver. Isoform 1 is expressed in more liver-specific. In the liver and kidney, by peroxisome proliferator (such as Clofibrate) treatment, via the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs) or fasting for 24 hours.Acyl-CoA thioesterases are a group of enzymes that catalyze the hydrolysis of acyl-CoAs to the free fatty acid and coenzyme A (CoASH), providing the potential to regulate intracellular levels of acyl-CoAs, free fatty acids and CoASH. Mainly active on long-chain acyl-CoAs. May have a function in termination of beta-oxydation of fatty acids.
