MILR1 Contains 2 Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domains. The immunoglobulin domain is a type of protein domain that consists of a 2-layer sandwich of between 7 and 9 antiparallel β-strands arranged in two β-sheets with a Greek key topology.Expressed in myeloid cells (dendritic cells, macrophages and neutrophils, weak expression on B cells but not in T cells or natural killer cells), peripheral blood basophils and mast cells (at protein level). Immunoglobulin-like receptor which plays an inhibitory role in degranulation of mast cells. Negatively regulates IgE-mediated mast cell activation and suppresses the type I immediate hypersensitivity reaction.
