Septin 13 (SEPT13)
Английские синонимы
SEPT7B
Septins, such as SEPT13, are conserved GTP-binding proteins that function as dynamic, regulatable scaffolds for the recruitment of other proteins. They are involved in membrane dynamics, vesicle trafficking, apoptosis, and cytoskeleton remodeling, as well as infection, neurodegeneration, and neoplasia .By searching databases for members of the septin family, Hall et al. (2005) identified SEPT13. The predicted SEPT13 protein contains P-loop motifs, a septin unique region, a bipartite nuclear localization signal, and a coiled-coil region. Hall et al. (2005) also identified a SEPT13 splice variant. DNA microarray analysis showed wide expression of SEPT13 in normal, diseased, and cancer tissues.By genomic sequence analysis, Hall et al. (2005) mapped the SEPT13 gene to chromosome 7p13.
