TCF3 Fusion Partner (TFPT)

TFPT contains 6 exons and spans about 10 kb. The promoter region has no TATA box, but it has 13 putative binding sites for Ikaros (ZNFN1A1) isoform-2, 1 for Ikaros isoform-1, and 8 for Ets proteins .By 5-prime RACE of cord blood RNA, they cloned the full-length cDNA. The deduced protein contains 253 amino acids. Northern blot analysis detected differential expression of 1.1- and 1.2-kb transcripts in all 6 tissues tested. The 1.2-kb transcript was predominant in liver and colon and in a myeloleukemia cell line, whereas the 1.1-kb transcript was predominant in brain. Both transcripts were equally expressed in B- and T-cell lines. RT-PCR detected FB1 in all cell lines and tissues examined.
