Pecanex Like Protein 3 (PCNXL3)

PCNXL3 belongs to the pecanex family. The National Institutes of Health Mammalian Gene Collection (MGC) Program is a multiinstitutional effort to identify and sequence a cDNA clone containing a complete ORF for each human and mouse gene.Embryos produced by Drosophila females homozygous for the maternal-effect neurogenic mutations almondex and pecanex can be partially rescued by microinjection of wild-type ooplasm. In addition, these mutations fully complement one another with respect to this assay, as they do by classical genetic criteria. Finally, embryos from both mutations cease to be rescuable after the establishment of the syncytial blastoderm.
