Human and rhesus monkey C6ORF15 share 93.3% amino acid identity. Northern blot and RT-PCR analysis of monkey tissues detected expression in circumvallate papillae taste buds only. In situ hybridization detected high expression in monkey circumvallate papillae, as well as foliate and fungiform papillae of the tongue.
