Coiled Coil Domain Containing Protein 88B (CCDC88B)

Based on in silico analysis with the sequence of HKRP1 (CCDC88A) as query, Simpson et al. (2005) identified a homologous gene, which they designated HKRP3, encoding a putative 1,607-amino acid protein. Enomoto et al. (2006) also described HKRP3, based on clone FLJ00354, as encoding a 1,476-amino acid protein. Database analysis indicated that the protein is preferentially expressed in the hematopoietic system.Simpson et al. (2005) also identified the CCDC88A gene, which they designated HKRP1, and identified 2 members of the same family, HKRP2 (CCDC88C) and HKRP3 (CCDC88B).
