Western blot analysis detected a NHA2 protein of about 50 kD in human erythrocytes and in all mouse tissues examined, with highest expression in pancreas. Immunofluorescence analysis of rat pancreatic beta cells and transfected canine kidney cells localized NHA2 to the plasma membrane.
