Nucleolar Protein With MIF4G Domain 1 (NOM1)
Английские синонимы
SGD1; C7orf3; Nucleolar MIF4G domain-containing protein 1
Proteins that contain MIF4G and/or MA3 domains, such as NOM1, function in protein translation. These domains include binding sites for members of the EIF4A family of ATP-dependent DEAD box RNA helicases .The deduced 860-amino acid protein contains an N-terminal basic region, followed by an acidic region, a central MIF4G domain, and a C-terminal MA3 domain. Northern blot analysis of human cell lines detected a predominant transcript of 6.3 kb. Fluorescence- and epitope-tagged NOM1 localized to the nucleolus in transfected human cells.NOM1 interacted with EIF4A1, EIF4A2, and EIF4A3 (DDX48). Coimmunoprecipitation experiments showed interaction between NOM1 and EIF4A1 in transfected human embryonic kidney cells.
