RUN Domain Containing Protein 3B (RUNDC3B)

RUNDC3B, Belongs to the RUNDC3 family. Isoform 2 is expressed at high levels in brain, thymus, ovary, testis, leukocyte, liver, small intestine and prostate. Isoform 1 is expressed in the brain, testis and adrenal gland. It is activated in tumorigenic breast cancer cell lines and in the primary tumor of breast cancer patients. Activation also correlates with metastatic lymph node invasion and can be detected in metastatic epithelial cells from the lymph nodes and in the bone marrow of patients. The cDNA is 3397bp long and has a predicted open reading frame encoding a protein of 329 aa. The predicted protein shows high homology to mouse and human RPIP8, and has a RUN domain near its C-terminus. The gene was mapped to human chromosome 7q21-7q22 and has 9 exons and 8 introns.
