Rap Guanine Nucleotide Exchange Factor Like Protein 1 (RAPGEFL1)
Английские синонимы
Link-GEFII; Link Guanine Nucleotide Exchange Factor II
The Ras subfamily (an abbreviation of RAt Sarcoma) is a protein subfamily of small GTPases that are involved in cellular signal transduction, and is also used to designate gene subfamily of the genes encoding those proteins. Activation of Ras signalling causes cell growth, differentiation and survival. Ras is the prototypical member of the Ras superfamily of proteins which are all related in structure and regulate diverse cell behaviours.Rap proteins, members of the Ras small G protein superfamily, can inhibit Ras signaling through the Ras/Raf-1/mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase pathway or can activate MAP kinase through B-Raf. Rap proteins are activated through guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs). RAPGEFL1 may be a guanine nucleotide exchange factor for Rap proteins.
