Six Transmembrane Epithelial Antigen Of The Prostate 4 (STEAP4)

STEAP4 has a dinucleotide-binding domain, an NADP oxidoreductase motif, and a pyrroline-5-carboxylate reductase (PYCR1)-like motif in its N-terminal half, and 6 transmembrane domains in its C-terminal half. STAMP2 shares 78% amino acid identity with its mouse homolog, Tiarp. highest expression of a 4-kb transcript in placenta, lung, heart, and prostate, with lower expression in liver, skeletal muscle, pancreas, testis, and small intestine. No expression was detected in brain, kidney, spleen, colon, or peripheral blood leukocytes. Fluorescence-tagged STAMP2 localized primarily to the Golgi complex, trans-Golgi network, and plasma membrane. It also localized to vesicular-tubular structures in the cytosol and colocalized with early endosome antigen-1 (EEA1), suggesting that it may be involved in secretory/endocytic pathways.
