Lag1p and Lac1p are essential for acyl-CoA-dependent ceramide synthesis, TRAM is a subunit of the translocon and the CLN8 gene is mutated in Northern epilepsy syndrome. Proteins containing this domain may possess multiple functions such as lipid trafficking, metabolism, or sensing.
