TWIST Neighbor (TWISTNB)

TWISTNB encodes a deduced 338-amino acid protein with a predicted molecular mass of 37.4 kD. The protein contains 2 potential nuclear localization signals in the C terminus and shares 72% sequence identity with the mouse ortholog. Northern blot analysis revealed expression of a single 4.3-kb transcript in all human fetal and adult tissues tested, with highest expression in fetal lung, liver, and kidney, and low expression in all adult tissues. RT-PCR analysis detected expression of mouse Twistnb in all adult tissues tested.TWISTNB gene contains 4 exons and spans approximately 13 kb.
