Tetratricopeptide Repeat Domain Protein 7B (TTC7B)
Английские синонимы
TTC7L1; Tetratricopeptide repeat protein 7-like-1
TTC7B contains 11 TPR repeats. The tetratricopeptide repeat (TPR) domain is defined by a degenerate consensus sequence of 34 amino acids. TPR domain-containing proteins, such as TTC7B, have diverse functions in cell cycle control, protein transport, phosphate turnover, and protein trafficking or secretion, and they can act as chaperones or scaffolding proteins. The deduced protein contains more than 700 amino acids. RT-PCR ELISA detected low to intermediate expression in all adult and fetal tissues and specific brain regions examined.By analyzing genes located in a region of mouse chromosome 17 associated with abnormal iron homeostasis, White et al. (2005) cloned Ttc7a. The deduced protein contains 7 TPR repeats, each of which has a helix-snap domain and forms alpha-helix segments.
