Zinc Finger Protein 12 (ZNF12)
Английские синонимы
ZNF325; KOX3; GIOT-3; Gonadotropin-inducible ovary transcription repressor 3
ZNF12 is a member of the krueppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family and encodes a protein with eight C2H2-type zinc fingers and a KRAB domain. This nuclear protein is involved in developmental control of gene expression. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized.Seite et al. (1991) localized 1 member of the human zinc finger Kruppel family, ZNF12 (KOX3), to chromosome 7p22-p21 by a combination of analysis of mouse-human somatic cell hybrids and in situ hybridization. Rousseau-Merck et al. (1993) described pulsed field gel electrophoresis experiments indicating that ZNF12 and ZNF26 are within the same DNA fragment less than 300 kb long.
