Zinc Finger Protein 330 (ZNF330)

ZNF330 is recognized by anti-NOR serum. Further immunofluorescence studies in mammalian cells demonstrated that ZNF330 localizes primarily to the nucleolus during interphase and to centromeres during mitosis. ZNF330 remains associated with the nucleolus, but no longer colocalizes with the nucleolar factor UBTF.The human ZNF330 gene encodes a 320-amino acid protein with a predicted molecular mass of 36.3 kD. The ZNF330 protein contains a putative nuclear localization signal, 9 conserved CXXC zinc finger motifs, and an acidic C terminus. EST analysis identified ZNF330 homologs in hamster, mouse, Drosophila, and nematode. Northern blot analysis showed expression of a 1.8-kb ZNF330 transcript in all tissues examined, with highest expression seen in heart and skeletal muscle.
